Miniature version
of the Robinson-Mahoney reactor design circulates liquid reactants past
a stationary catalyst bed. Impellers (5,000 rpm) draw fluid into
the center of an annular catalyst basket. The bench-scale multiphase reactor
design is used for time based, laboratory, high temperature & high pressure
heterogeneous catalysis experiments with gas / liquid /solid phase reactants.
Use internal recycle reactors & vary reaction time for catalyst studies
in activation, regeneration & durability
A full range of apparatus used for catalyst research.
Micro-Robinson-Mahoney Catalyst Reactor: Catalyst Testing Reactors
Test supported catalysts with this "Micro" reactor for multiple phases
FEATURES
Pressure rating
is 5,000 psig (345 bar) & temperature ratings are either 650°F (343°C) or 1,000°F (538°C)
HASTELLOY® C-276 material is standard; other chemical /petrochemical /corrosion
resistant alloys are offered
The design conforms
to the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII Division 1: An
ASME code stamp is optional
The impellers are
spun by a 5,000 rpm MagneDrive® magnetic drive that eliminates
dynamic seals for worry-free recycle
Retain the solid
catalyst in a stationary, woven wire mesh basket to allow gas / liquid
circulation with low pressure drop
Circulating the
reactants past the catalyst's active surface avoids wearing & breakage (attrition) for accurate scale-up
The reactor can
be used for continuous flow catalytic reactions (using internal overflow
tube as the outlet) for fluids
Metal-to-metal
seals resists chemicals & extreme temperature
Optional process
control instrumentation measures & controls temperature, impeller speed
& pressure
Obtain expert,
catalytic equipment advice from the manufacturer & ongoing support from
the local, factory approved supplier
BENEFITS
This lab, catalytic chemical
reactor design permits precise temperature control & rapid heating / cooling.
The Micro Robinson-Mahoney is used as a selective catalytic reactor &
an adiabatic reactor using minimal amount of supported catalyst material
& creating a minimum of waste. Complete high-pressure chemistry in a miniature
heterogeneous catalysis apparatus. See the Micro-Clave for a bench-top,
batch slurry reactor.
