A standard high pressure
laboratory batch reactor that is opened without tools using a single quick
release. This chemical reactor design is ideal for experiments where the
cover must be removed for cleaning, inspection, loading / unloading. The
151 bar @ 232°C (2,200 psi @ 450°F) pressure rating is
based on the standard Viton® fluoroelastomer O-ring. See
the ZipperClave® Pressure Vessel bulletin for typical temperature
limits for other O-ring materials when exposed to compatible process fluids.

ZipperClave®: Stirred Reactors
Open
this (500 to 4,000 ml) high pressure, laboratory reactor by hand.
FEATURES
Standard capacity
range of 500 to 4,000 ml is suitable for lab use as a continuous stirred
tank reactor (CSTR) & slurry reactor
The O-ring seal
creates a quick & reliable chemical resistant seal that is easily replaced
if damaged
316SS & HASTELLOY® C-276 materials are standard; other corrosion resistant alloys are offered
Sparging, charging,
blowpipe, sampling & cooling coil process connections are ideal for
most chemical reactor processes
A large diameter
fitting (with valve) in the cover is used for adding powders
& solids including catalysts & initiators
The straight wall
design allows access to the full diameter & depth of the reactor once
the full size cover is removed
Access to the interior
is easy since the vessel can be lowered with all the process fittings
& tubing attached to the cover
The stirred reactor
uses a 3,300 rpm MagneDrive® magnetic mixer that eliminates
dynamic seals for trouble free mixing
Optional process
control instrumentation measures & controls temperature, mixing speed
& pressure

process equipment advice from the manufacturer & ongoing support from
the local, factory approved supplier
BENEFITS
Ease of cleaning & elimination
of foot bearings reduces the risk of cross-contamination. It offers easy
access for high pressure & high temperature, chemical synthesis of corrosive,
hazardous & very reactive chemicals / petrochemicals as well as catalyst
research. It is delivered custom configured & after full functional testing
for fast & easy start-up. See EZE-Seal® Reactors for pressures up to 3,300
psi (227
bar).
See Bolted Closure Reactors for pressures up to 5,000
psi (379
bar).
